It was January 28th, 2024 in Winnipeg Manitoba, and Machine Head is Headlining their Slaughter the Martour Tour at the Burton Cummings Theatre. Machine Head came out guns blazing, opening their set with “Imperium” from their 2003 album Through the Ashes of Empires. Machine Head embarked on a captivating journey through their discography featuring tracks from their 1994 record Burn My Eyes with songs like “Old” & “Davidian” to their latest release OF KINGDOM AND CROWN with tracks like “CHØKE ØN THE ASHES ØF YØUR HATE,”, “NØ GØDS, NØ MASTERS,” & “SLAUGHTER THE MARTYR.” The show, devoid of extravagant lights or pyrotechnics, relied on a minimal lighting set up & a backdrop projecting visuals that complemented each song, creating a raw yet powerful atmosphere. This Metal spectacle was a testament to the band’s ability to deliver a pure, unadulterated raw METAL experience. In the eyes of this metal enthusiast, it was a dream come true.
