Its been over 10 years since I’ve seen Dropkick Murphys, and they were just as dynamic and fun as I remember them being! Jessie Ahern opened the show. While I wasn’t familiar with his music, I was immediately grooving to his songs. He’s a one-man-show and he really brings the stage presence. I grabbed one of his CDs after his set so that I can get more familiar with his stuff. I definitely want to catch him next time he comes around! The Rumjacks was another great surprise! Man, I’m kicking myself for not looking these guys up before this show, because, damn… They had a ton of energy and some fantastic tunes. They dialed the energy up consistently throughout their set. And honestly, I’d never think that a band with a front-man who plays the tin whistle could rock the house as much as they did. I know… judgy-mcJudgerson over here. These guys rock, and I’m glad that I got to see them!

Dropkick Murphys… the thing that I recall most about the last show (that I saw in like ’09.. yeah, I’m old, whatevs) was how much they engaged the audience. That hasn’t changed at all! They came out onto the stage dialed up to 11. Everyone in the front row, and as far back as I could see was singing along. Several times Al Barr came out onto the stage extension and encouraged a few lucky people in the front to sing along on the mic. This whole show was a ton of fun and an amazing amount of raw energy. 12 albums in and Dropkick Murphys are still bringing it! I’m excited that I got to see them again and can’t wait of for the next time!

ToddStar - that's me... just a rocking accountant who had dreams of being a rock star. I get to do the next best thing to rocking the globe - I get to take pictures of the lucky ones that do. I love to shoot all genres of music and different types of performers. If it is related to music, I love to photograph it. I get to shoot and hang with not only some of my friends and idols, but some of the coolest people around today.
