A slab of barely contained vitriol from the four-man anarcho-noise destructopunks Raygun Mortlock is always welcome on the turntable of the 100% ROCK Armageddon Shelter.

This clear vinyl 10” EP is housed in a garishly illustrated cover featuring what appears to be a drunken farmer clutching a screaming baby, who is standing next to a stripping cow whilst a woman in the background seems to be having a moment of pleasure all her own. The back cover depicts a farm truck behind Dia de los Muertos painted children dancing like they’re on a ‘60s Beat Club episode.

Which, fans of Raygun Mortlock will know, is a perfect artistic representation of the aural contents.

From the noiserama thrash of Gor-Dons Pit to the chaos-groove of Saltmine, through the on-point Harvey Weinstein, Rolf Harris, Gary Glitter, et al name n’ shaming of Sex Offender to the frankly disturbing grudge fulfilment of Josh McDonald (“why don’t you kill yourself Josh McDonald”), this is so cool that the ‘cool kids’ don’t have a hope of getting it: a writhing, nasty uber-noise that is both psychotically non-conformist and staunchly not for the faint hearted.
