St. Vincent’s Daddy’s Home tour featured a stop at the Old National Theatre in Indy. Comedian Ali Macofsky got the evening started. After a short break, the light dimmed, and St. Vincent took the stage. A multicolored cityscape was the background. A full band with 70’s styled back up singers were in support. Always stylish, Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent), donned a blonde wig and disco inspired jacket and shorts. Having seen St. Vincent’s last three tours, I can say each has a different vibe. Her metamorphosis has kept each one fresh and new. Not only a singer with great range, St. Vincent has a unique guitar style, edgy and sharp which is not given the credit it deserves. Her production and execution were flawless. Her long set included a nice mix of old and new including from her latest release, Daddy’s Home which was released in May and inspired by her father’s release from prison. Between songs she was charming and sweet, connecting with her fans. Those in attendance were certainly rewarded with a great show to kick off the weekend.
