Grace Potter is back on tour with a new band and new solo album Daylight. Much has changed since her last tour; a new family, a baby son Sagan and a return to her musical roots with more raw, soulful songs emanating from her personal life experiences. The theatre was sold old and the enthusiastic crowd roared as she took the stage. Grace admitted feeling under the weather with flu-like symptoms but refused to cancel as drummer Jordan West hails from Indiana and had her whole family in attendance. She opened with “Daylight” off the new album and showed no signs of illness. Her vocals were powerful, and she was her usual energetic self throughout the night. She played a variety of guitars, electric and acoustic, keyboards and cymbals throughout her performance. She was charismatic sharing stories and engaging the audience between songs. Her new band sounded great with sound levels appropriate for the small venue. She included songs from both her solo work and the Nocturnals, making a diverse setlist. Her nearly two-hour performance was excellent, and everyone was grateful for her toughing it out!
Setlist: Daylight – Ah Mary – Empty Heart – Back to Me – Here’s to the Meantime – Everyday Love – Treat Me Right – Big White Gate – Repossession – Loneliest Soul – Desire – Nothing but the Water (I) – Nothing but the Water (II) – I’d Rather Go Blind – Stars – Paris (Ooh La La)
