The Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada was packed to the brim with a diverse group of fans for The Offspring and Sum 41 for their Canadian tour. The bands have a diverse fan base from returning to new young fans as well as keeping the punk rock alive. The show kicked off with UK Alternative rock band Dinosaur Pile-Up in the evening. The band set the tone for the crowd pumping them up for the main acts to a show they couldn’t forget. I enjoyed their style of music while shooting the band before the main acts went up.

First to the stage was Sum 41 and I was excited and I knew fans were excited as much as I seeing Sum 41 live. Leadsinger Deryck Whibley is a performer that wilded up that crowd greatly and probably one of nicest as well as caring ones I’ve seen. Even interacting with the crowd you can tell the band loves what they are doing. Even Deryck went across the stadium to see the fans near the back and did a few songs by the sound booth. The band went through some new and old material including “Motivation,” “The Hell Song,” “Out for Blood,” and “Walking Disaster.” Sum 41 delivered what fans wanted to see at this show and as well as new and old.

Finally, The Offspring comes out on stage with “Americana” and fans knew the words right away just singing their hearts out. Frontman Dexter Holland at age 53 still has it and was not letting go at all giving it his all just like he was in his early years with the band. The band was interacting with the fans as well as calling fans for words to songs. The band went through old material to give the old fans what they came for like “Want You Bad,” “All I Want,” “Bad Habit,” and “The Kids Aren’t Alright.” For new fans as well as old fans I think you got what you came to see some great punk rock bands.

ToddStar - that's me... just a rocking accountant who had dreams of being a rock star. I get to do the next best thing to rocking the globe - I get to take pictures of the lucky ones that do. I love to shoot all genres of music and different types of performers. If it is related to music, I love to photograph it. I get to shoot and hang with not only some of my friends and idols, but some of the coolest people around today.
