The fifth album from Queensland-based Aussie/Irish husband and wife duo Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson continues their rootsy blues journey with the former playing a myriad of guitars in a myriad of styles, and his missus matching him on the drums (and sometimes more guitars) no matter what he throws at her.
Blues and roots are at the core of what these two lovebirds do, and you’ll also notice some New Orleans gospel on Trimmed And Burning, the relentlessly upbeat boogie of ADHD, and the bare bones lament of Cara’s touching ballad Unbound.
Hand It Over doesn’t quite capture the heartfelt passion of Hat Fitz & Cara live, but it delivers their unique talents in a slightly different, very enjoyable way. It’ll be great to hear some of these tracks live when next they pass through town.
