AT FIRST SIGHT featuring BALL PARK MUSIC, ALICE IVY, TIA GOSTELOW, MOSQUITO COAST

+ MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED

At First Sight is a new mini-festival taking place across two iconic Fremantle live music venues over the WA Day long weekend. Staged across neighbouring venues Metropolis Fremantle and the Newport Hotel on Sunday, 2 June, the inaugural At First Sight will be headlined by Brisbane live favourites and triple j darlings, Ball Park Music.

Joining them is a line-up of blossoming Australian musical talent including Alice Ivy, Tia Gostelow and Mosquito Coast, plus more acts to be announced. With DJs and plenty of exciting goings-on in nearby outdoor and laneway spaces, At First Sight will ensure that you make the most of your long weekend.

2018 was a tremendous year for Ball Park Music. Their fifth record GOOD MOOD debuted at #6 on the ARIA chart and received ARIA Award nominations for Best Cover Art, Best Producer and Best Engineer. triple j listeners voted it their #1 album of 2018 in triple j’s Album Poll. The euphoric single Exactly How You Are landed at #18 on triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2017 and The Perfect Life Does Not Exist came in at #39 on Hottest 100 of 2018. Their national tour with San Cisco saw them play the biggest venues of their career, taking on Brisbane’s Riverstage, Sydney’s Big Top, Fremantle Arts Centre and selling out Melbourne’s Festival Hall.

Having released her critically acclaimed debut album I’m Dreaming in February, Melbourne-based electronic producer Alice Ivy has performed more than 50 shows worldwide including Australian national tours with Flight Facilities, Vera Blue and The Jungle Giants plus performances at SXSW 2018, Falls Festival and Splendour In The Grass. Alice Ivy’s eclectic signature sound spans sample-influenced soul, hip-hop and electronic pop that she brings to life in a live setting by demonstrating her proficiency as a multi-instrumentalist. With a trio of singles (Get Me A Drink ft. E^St, Be Friends and Chasing Stars ft. Bertie Blackman) on high rotation at triple j and a reputation for explosive live performances Alice Ivy is fast becoming recognised as one of Australia’s most versatile and exhilarating artists.

At the tender age of 16, Tia Gostelow penned her 2015 single State Of Art, which quickly caught triple j’s attention and saw her win their 2016 Indigenous Initiative and earn a place in 2016’s triple j Unearthed Top 5. Things started moving fast, with Tia being invited to officially showcase at BIGSOUND 2016, coinciding with the release of Vague Utopia, which was also added to high rotation on triple j. Tia quickly assembled a team and a band, playing her first gigs and supporting artists including Frightened Rabbit, Husky and Bernard Fanning. Third single That’s What You Get was followed by six nominations and two wins at the 2017 Queensland Music Awards. Since then, Tia has turned 18, travelled overseas for the first time and released a new single Hunger, which has hit half a million Spotify streams to date. Tia is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album, due for release this September via her own label, Lovely Records.

Naomi Robinson and Conor Barton make sun-bleached, guitar-driven pop as Mosquito Coast. Hailing from Perth and naming themselves after a Harrison Ford film, these teenagers have had four singles added to rotation on triple j, completed two Australian headlining tours, supported Northeast Party House on their sold-out Calypso Beach tour, and played festivals including Southbound, Lost Paradise, NYE on the Hill and Groovin’ The Moo. Accolades include winning triple j Unearthed High in 2015 with the breezy tune Call My Name. The duo recently released their latest single, Skipping Girl.
