BRUCE FOXTON PLAYS HITS FROM THE JAM FOR 2016 AUSTRALIAN TOUR
The Australian public will be getting what the public wants, with the announcement that classic British punk / mod-revival act From The Jam will be returning to for a national tour of Australia in September.
Following on from a run of sold out shows during their previous stint down under, Surrey’s From The Jam – which features bassist Bruce Foxton from iconic British group The Jam and guitarist Russell Hastings – will once again be heading around Australia, where they will be showcasing classic hits, from Down In The Tube Station At Midnight to The Modern World, as well as live favorites and songs from Bruce’s solo career.
The Jam exploded onto the punk scene in 1977 as a group of ‘angry young men’, hell bent on delivering their ferocious mission statement through fast tempo’s and punk rock attitudes. Dressed smartly tailored suits rather than ripped clothes, brought together a number of mainstream 1960s rock and R&B influences rather than rejecting them, placing The Jam at the forefront of the mod revival movement.
With a catalogue that includes 18 UK Top 40 singles The Jam became the sound of The British youth and one of the greatest and biggest selling bands in British history. In 2000, Q magazine placed The Jam’s third album ‘All Mod Cons’ at Number 50 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever.
