Lucifer’s Universe is a companion piece to the Neptune Power Federation album of the same name by Mike Foxall & his buddies – or rather, that was a companion piece to this graphic novel.
Either way, they are both fantastic whether enjoyed individually, or – for a supreme schlock horror/heavy metal combo of diabolical proportions – in unison, as each chapter of the book has a corresponding song.
Lucifer’s Universe tells a tale of witchfinding and murder, madness and horror, all darkened by the shadow cast by ‘ole sparky, Satan.
Imagine, if you will, taking all the best bits of ‘60s Hammer Horror films, chucking it into a graphic novel with more gore than the censors of that time would have ever allowed, and join it at the hip with a Siamese-twin album of over-the-fuckin’-top gonzoid heavy metal…
That’s a ten outta ten from me, then.
