In the day of iTunes and singles, there seems to plenty of EP’s available via download or physical release.  Honest Brutal Glorious from Midnight Mob is the latest to shoot across my email.  This 6-track disc starts off with the full-on punk rocker “Swing On.”  This song brings together a killer groove and infectious vibe with killer vocals and fun chugging riffs.  The attitude of the chorus grabs your attention, gets your head banging, and keeps you engaged, thanks to the strong vocals.  “Ghosts” is next and while kicking off with some distortion and bass lines, seems to swerve into a poppier direction than the disc opener.  The tempo is solid and safe, while the drums and guitars seem to want to pull away and soar across the track.  “Song for The Damned” starts off with a cool punk rock beat and bottom end that sounds punishing, without being too heavy.  The vocals and lyrics are catchy and keep the track moving.  “Run For Your Life” brings a cool punk vibe to the disc, leaning into the bands past while keeping their ear on the future.  The vocals and guitars seem to click at the chorus and reminded me of The Runaways and their swirl of guitars and vocals.  “Black Mamba” wraps everything tightly around a chugging riff that weaves itself into the track, but delivers a milder track than we are used to after listening to the first few songs.  The vocal wrangles the song and gives it a darker groove through the verse.  Closer “Stay” is different than anything else on the small collection, but gives us a different look at the band.  This acoustic track allows the vocals to shine and soar in a different manner, while the guitars work to support the mood of the lyrics.
