Packaging up four very different films connected only very loosely by the ‘classic rock’ banner, this collection provides hours of diverse entertainment.
The Freddie Mercury biopic The Great Pretender is a detailed, insightful and wonderfully entertaining (and sometimes shocking) look inside the great Queen singer’s career and life.
Springsteen & I focuses on fans of The Boss as they explain to the camera how Bruce’s music has touched their lives and enriched their souls. An appearance at the end by The Boss himself, chatting casually with his most ardent fans is a wonderfully human touch.
Eric Clapton – Planes, Trains & Eric follows Slow Hand’s 2014 world tour, featuring 14 full performances, as well as plenty of fly on the wall material as he and his band travel the world.
Phil Collins is a stretch to include on any ‘classic rock’ collection, but he’s here with his Live At Montreaux concert from 2004, bulked out with a second disc of another performance from 1996. It’s more Phil than anyone could ask for, really, but no doubt his fans will be happy.
