NEWS: THE TENORS EMBARK ON U.S./CANADA FALL TOUR IN SUPPORT OF LATEST #1 ALBUM

| 10 October 2015 | Reply

October 8, 2015 — Canadian multi-Platinum, JUNO® Award-winning vocal group THE TENORS–Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef, Remigio Pereira and Fraser Walters—have launched a massive U.S. and Canada Fall/Winter tour, which started October 7 in Edmonds, WA at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, in support of their latest #1 album, UNDER ONE SKY. Even more dates for 2016 are currently being confirmed and will be announced in the coming weeks.

With multiple TV specials, new music videos, and a slate of high-profile appearances, THE TENORS had a very busy summer since the release of UNDER ONE SKY June 2 on Decca/UMC. Their third PBS concert special aired in June and again in August. In October, Comcast Xfinity will premiere “Sessions From Willow Grove,” an intimate concert experience filmed earlier this summer at The Inn At Willow Grove in Orange, VA.

In the midst of the tour, THE TENORS will make a special appearance during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 12 to sing the national anthem.

UNDER ONE SKY debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Classical Crossover Albums” chart and “Classical Albums” charts, and it has already been certified Gold by the CRIA in the group’s native Canada.  It also reached #3 on Canada’s “Top 200 Albums” chart, just behind Mumford & Sons and Josh Groban. The foursome created UNDER ONE SKY over an 18-month period, recording in Ontario, Los Angeles and Nashville with seven producers, including David Foster (Michael Buble, Celine Dion), Bob Ezrin (Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd), and Keith Thomas (Blake Shelton, Luther Vandross).

The video for the title track captures each of THE TENORS visiting different corners of the world, in addition to videos submitted by their fans gathered via a social media campaign. Walters began writing “Under One Sky” as a theme for the Pan Am Games, reflecting on his experience on Canada’s national track and field team 15 years ago. The reflective upbeat tune soon morphed into something more universal. “It’s a song with a big message,” he says. “The goal for anyone who hears it is to realize that in our world, we have a choice to focus on our differences or on our similarities. It’s an anthemic song about bringing people together.”  Earlier this summer, THE TENORS unveiled their moving video for their inspiring cover of “Lean On Me,” and this week the band released the video for their next single, “I Remember You.”

UNDER ONE SKY is a 13-track album combining a mix of originals alongside new interpretations of familiar favorites, including “Lean On Me,” “You Are So Beautiful” (duet featuring Walters’ wife, Kelly Levesque), “Granada,” “Besame Mucho” and “Agnus Dei.” The album spans anthems, classic covers and original songs penned/co-penned by THE TENORS themselves.

Over the past several years, THE TENORS have been selling out concerts across Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., and have performed over 500 live shows on five continents.  In 2014, THE TENORS performed for the Obamas at the prestigious National Christmas Tree Lighting.  Their previous TV appearances–over 150 worldwide–include the Today Show, Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, Oprah (with Celine Dion), the Primetime Emmy® Awards, ITV’s Diamond Jubilee Show for the Queen and many more.  They have shared the stage with such luminaries as Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Elton John, Earth Wind & Fire, Paul McCartney, Jennifer Hudson, Ellie Goulding, Justin Bieber and more. THE TENORS’ first self-titled album is certified double Platinum, and their 2010 THE PERFECT GIFT holiday album is certified triple Platinum in Canada. Their third album, 2012’s LEAD WITH YOUR HEART, went double Platinum, won a 2013 Juno Award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Classical Albums” and “Classical Crossover Albums” charts.
