Blood On My Hands sees Sheffield’s Roaming Son shuffle sideways from the Southern rock undercurrent of debut EP, 2013’s History Of Violence, as well as turning the crunch up a few shades.
With singer and chief songwriter Tim Lee Cavanagh’s vocals sounding like he eats his morning bacon & eggs on barbed wire toast, the overall feel of this EP is more heavy trucker rock than southern grits.
Opening with the snarling menace of the title track – a slab of fine groove rock that stomps heads and is guaranteed to make your average boy band shit their pants – Blood On My Hands showcases plenty of diversity.
Passing Through features an anthemic chorus straight out of the AC/DC playbook, One Day is a hard rockin’ slice of rock and the closest sounding track to their debut.
Terminal Kiss resonates with a surf guitar twang and the tale of a bad, bad girl, before Devil in Me closes the EP with a nod towards rockabilly and a really swinging groove.
Roaming Son’s recent heavy gigging schedule has included some high profile supports and it shows in their evolution since 2013, producing another kick-ass slab of REAL rawk n’ roll.
