Florian Grey - Gone cover

Hailing from first Frankfurt, then more recently Berlin, in Germany, Florian Grey channels all the mystique of the latter’s notorious nightclub scene into this full length offering of darkpop/rock gems.

Like a hard rock Bowie or Gary Numan, Grey explores his songs with the assurance of someone far more experienced, delivering a collection that is equal parts neo-industrial pop and twisted melodic heartbreaking songs of yearning.

Laudanum has the chops to be a bonafide hit, and on A Black Symphony Grey channels all the angst he can summon to create a minor epic with shades of Bowie, Reznor, Danzig and more.

It all adds up to a truly interesting, confident album from Grey, one which hopefully will serve as just an appetiser for even greater delights to follow.
