Jake Chisholm - Diamond In A Coalmine cover

Laid back blues is at the core of Jake Chisholm’s Diamond In A Coalmine album from 2013: laid back with a sprinkle of classic rock, some soulful singing and funky basslines, and all topped off with Chisholm’s seemingly effortless, always tasteful playing.

Hailing from Toronto’s jazz & blues scene were he’s in-demand as a session muso, Chisholm has assembled a killer band in bassist Chris Banks and drummer Sly Juhas.

On top of seven originals (Let’s Do It Again and Don’t Take It So Hard stand out) Chisholm also delivers excellent reimaginings of Robert Johnson’s Travelling Riverside Blues and The Young Rascals’ You Better Run.
