There’s something perfect about the image of a dog hanging its head through an open car window.
They sit in a canine seventh heaven: ears and folds of skin flapping in the wind, tongues often lolling out, and a look of bliss on their face, or sometimes a studious wisdom as they take in their fast-moving surroundings.
Collected here are almost 100 portraits of dogs from big to small captured in various states of motion, in various states of America, united by their happiness at this most simple of pleasures, and in our adoration for them.
While the captions to these pictures give only vague information at best, the images are what counts here, and they make a wonderfully simple, brief diversion from the hustle bustle of modern life for any dog lover.
