Broadcasting load and clear from sunny Sweden, Captain Black Beard’s debut slipped under 100% ROCK MAG’s radar upon it’s release in 2011, but it’s a thoroughly enjoyable melodic rock romp through 11 tracks that traverse all the important topics: Don’t Turn Your Back On Love, Rock Is My Life, what to do on those long Summer Nights, True Love and Rockin’ Body, to name but a few.
Pitched at the same sort of rock intensity as Van Halen: The Hagar Years, or Coney Hatch, Captain Black Beard have crafted some great tunes played with panache and oomph and a sheer likeability that is hard to fault.
