HUNTRESS to Tour North America With Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Testament

| 18 July 2013 | Reply

2013 is shaping up to be the year of HUNTRESS, following the release of their critically acclaimed album Starbound Beast.  The band has been taking part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and will be touring North America with Danzig immediately following their run on Mayhem and their appearance at the Heavy MTL festival.

And now to top it off HUNTRESS has been asked to take part in one of the biggest tours of the fall.  The band has confirmed that they will be hitting the road with heavy metal heavyweights Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Testament!  The tour kicks off October 22nd in Toronto, ON and runs through November 26th in Silver Spring, MD.  Tickets for these shows go on sale July 19th and 20th.

HUNTRESS frontwoman Jill Janus commented on being asked to open for Lamb of God: “I have visualized this; dreaming that HUNTRESS could one day tour with Lamb of God. We are beyond honored and humbled to open for the mighty LOG, Killswitch Engage and Testament. My mind is blown, this is a trip! HUNTRESS shall melt faces this fall…I can’t wait to rage the stage with these three monstrous legends of metal!”

Starbound Beast, is available now via Napalm Records. The album is available for purchase on iTunesAmazon and in Best Buy stores in the US.

HUNTRESS are taking part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.  In addition to performing every day, vocalist Jill Janus will host the first ever Shred-Meister guitar competition.  Festival attendees can go to the Jägermeister tents on site and audition for a chance to shred for 10 seconds on the main stage. Each day, one of the 10 finalists will win a custom  Jägermeister guitar from Schecter, and the overall winner at the end of the tour will win a  custom Jägermeister full stack and head courtesy of Peavey Electronics.

HUNTRESS have confirmed they will be touring late summer with Danzig as he celebrates his 25th Anniversary with Doyle.  These tour dates kick off immediately following the band’s run with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, and Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal, Canada.  The tour starts August 13th in Bethlehem, PA, and runs through August 31st in Tempe, AZ.  A complete list of dates can be found below.

The band recently filmed their music video for “Zenith” from their new album Starbound Beast.  An exclusive trailer has been posted and can be viewed HERE.  The spectacular video was directed by Phil Mucci, whose video for HIGH ON FIRE‘s “Fertile Green” was named best video of 2012 by Revolver. Look for the video to receive its exclusive premiere via Bloody Disgusting soon.

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.
