Also at Tripolee, Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival returns as a curating partner for Movement at Electric Forest – an energy-packed evening showcasing both Movement alum and emerging talent. Deep in the FOREST, a curated series new to Electric Forest this year, will feature Nu-Disco and Deep-House performances in the heart of the Sherwood Forest – with sets by artists Munson Meeks (Boulder), Luke the Knife (Denver), Cyril Hahn (Vancouver), and No Regular Play (Brookyln), among others. Among today’s artist announcements are two winners of Electric Forest’s “Instrumental Forester Competition.” Hosted by EF’s Plug In fan engagement program, artists Jessijem n’ the Infamous Crotch Kickers and Sam Klass each earned a performance slot on the festival’s Forest Stage. In other Plug In news, Imago’s “Cerebrum of Electric Forest” submission snagged first prize for Electric Forest’s“Installation Sponsorship Contest.” They win a $3000 grant and 5 GA Passes to manifest their artistic vision – a projection-mapped brain personifying the cognitive center of the forest in – to display at this year’s festival.
