Electric Forest Announces Lineup Additions, Curated Events, and More

Today, Electric Forest 2013 reveals another round of artists confirmed to perform inRothbury, Michigan on June 27- June 30. Check out the video here.

Above & Beyond, GrizMatik with Special Guests, Morgan Page, The Polish Ambassador, ESKMO, Quixotic, Cyril Hahn, and A Tribe Called Red are among the nearly 30 acts added to the 2013 lineup. Also announced today are the Curated Events – Fool’s Gold Clubhouse, Movement at Electric Forest, and Deep in the FOREST. These artists and curated events join previously announced artists: live music pioneers The String Cheese Incident (3 performances), Passion Pit, Empire of the Sun, Knife Party, Dispatch, Benny Benassi, Yeasayer, A-Trak, Grimes,Railroad Earth, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, FEMI KUTI & The Positive Force, Madeon, Headhunterz, Baauer, Danny Brown, Greensky Bluegrass and many more. Also announced today are Electric Forest’s 2013 Curated Events. Fool’s Gold Clubhouse – hosted by the Brooklyn-based indie label at Electric Forest’s Tripolee Stage – will feature A-Trak, Danny Brown, OLIVER, Just Blaze, Caze, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers, Party Supplies and others to be announced. Also at Tripolee, Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival returns as a curating partner for Movement at Electric Forest – an energy-packed evening showcasing both Movement alum and emerging talent. Deep in the FOREST, a curated series new to Electric Forest this year, will feature Nu-Disco and Deep-House performances in the heart of the Sherwood Forest – with sets by artists Munson Meeks (Boulder), Luke the Knife (Denver), Cyril Hahn (Vancouver), and No Regular Play (Brookyln), among others. Among today’s artist announcements are two winners of Electric Forest’s “Instrumental Forester Competition.” Hosted by EF’s Plug In fan engagement program, artists Jessijem n’ the Infamous Crotch Kickers and Sam Klass each earned a performance slot on the festival’s Forest Stage. In other Plug In news, Imago’s “Cerebrum of Electric Forest” submission snagged first prize for Electric Forest’s“Installation Sponsorship Contest.” They win a $3000 grant and 5 GA Passes to manifest their artistic vision – a projection-mapped brain personifying the cognitive center of the forest in – to display at this year’s festival.
