Phoenix, AZ Rockers WHILE SHE WAITS to Perform at No Cover Magazine International’s “F*ck Cancer Foundation” Benefit on March 16, 2013

WHILE SHE WAITS, formed by members of Phoenix-area mainstay bands The Tommy Gibbons Project (Tommy Gibbons, guitar, backing vocals) and Contrary to Reason (James Cole, vocals), are pleased to announce their involvement in No Cover Magazine International’s upcoming fundraiser show to benefit the F*ck Cancer Foundation. The show will take place in Tempe, AZ at Club 910 on March 16, 2013. Other bands performing will include headliners Sullen Musik, The Chimpz, Element a440, Fatal Error, Whiskey Six and Cassie and Chris of Frequis. Several of the bands are donating items to the cause.

“It is such a pleasure to see the community of national and local acts step up to perform and donate,” states No Cover Magazine owner and publisher and benefit organizer Michelle Leach. “Bands such as recently signed Phoenix band WHILE SHE WAITS are going to be performing the show and are donating a signed cymbal and the vocalist’s first mic. Evans Blue are donating a signed photograph and John Connelly of Sevendust is donating a signed CD by new project, Projected. Not to mention the many donations from our local bands and vendors from Schecter Guitars to Sullen Collection Clothing. It is truly appreciated.”

WHILE SHE WAITS vocalist James Cole states, “WHILE SHE WAITS is very excited to play a small acoustic set for this show. Cancer has claimed so many lives and hurt so many families, we cannot think of a better benefit to contribute too. WHILE SHE WAITS will be playing our acclaimed song “Face Behind the Gates,” which was written about my daughter drowning in 1994. We will dedicate this song to all the people who have suffered through this terrible disease. This show is not about a band, popularity, etc. etc., but rather the cause– getting rid of cancer. We are excited and look forward to helping in any way we can.”

The benefit was originally put together by No Cover Magazine owner and publisher Michelle Leach, due to the recent diagnosis of a close family member. However, after beginning the event so many victims of this disease came forward that it is more than apparent this has been an epidemic for years that needs a cure NOW. The F*ck Cancer Foundation was chosen for many reasons.  One of which is their impact with the national bands.  You can currently see artists such as Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody on stage decking their swag to support the cause.  The F*ck Cancer Foundation mission is to fight cancer by raising awareness and to educate about early cancer detection, ultimately putting an end to late stage cancer diagnosis. WHILE SHE WAITS recently announced their new record deal with Oklahoma City, OK based record label TMG Records. The band is working on new music now to be released with TMG Records later this year. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
