“Have You Met Lera Lynn?” features ten bright and breezy tunes that waft from straight to alt country, as seen through the quirky and poppy shades and poetic soul of Ms Lera Lynn.

With all the tracks written by Lynn with the exception of Leonard Cohen’s I Tried To Leave You, this is a lovely, whimsical debut album from the multi instrumentalist.

There is a breathy, sultry, heat to Lynn’s vocals throughout that evoke a similar – though twangier – feeling to that delivered by Alison Krauss on her duets album with Robert Plant, “Raising Sand”.  More country, less bluegrass, and without the super-budget production.  Which is not to malign in any way the production here – a double act by Lynn herself and drummer C K Koch, which is sparse when needed, and as warm and comforting as a favourite blanket throughout.
