SINCLARITY DEBUTS DAVE RODRIGUEZ-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR ‘WAKE UP’

YORK, Penn. – The video for “Wake Up,” the first single from Sinclarity’s upcoming debut, has been officially released.

The Dave Rodriguez-directed clip was filmed atop a New York City building, using the city’s distinct skyline as a backdrop.

“We really wanted a strong performance piece as an introduction to the band,” said frontman Matt Holmes. “Concept videos on a low budget typically miss their mark, so we wanted to avoid that and just show everyone who we are with as little frills as possible.”

The band and the director (“American Bully,” “Last I Heard”) connected a decade ago when Rodriguez was looking for music for his first major motion picture. Years later, Rodriguez would place Sinclarity’s music on the soundtrack to his film “American Bully.” While in New York working on the upcoming film “Last I Heard,” Rodriguez rang up Holmes and offered to shoot a video.

“We knew he could capture our vision so we jumped at the chance,” Holmes said. “”It’s pretty cool to have a friend that directs big-budget films as your go-to guy when you want to make a video.”

Rodriguez is equally enthusiastic about working with Holmes and Sinclarity. “”I feel that Matt is one of the more talented music producer/performer/musicians working today,” he said. “He has an amazing ear and absolutely has his finger on the pulse of what people want to hear. I’m a friend but an even bigger fan of Matt’s talent.”

“Wake Up” is a plea to the listener to wake up and start paying attention to what’s going on in the world. “It’s so easy to be numb and forget about all of the people who are hurting and suffering, as long as it doesn’t affect us directly,” said Holmes. “We can make an impact if we choose to open our eyes to what’s going on around us. The symbolic value of the Manhattan skyline was the perfect backdrop for what we were trying to say.”

The alt-rock band will release its debut this fall via New Zealand-based boutique label DO IT Records. The band will head to New Zealand later this month for seven shows.
