Blue Note Records artists José James and Robert Glasper Experiment are set to take the stage at 7:45pm GMT (2:45pm ET) and 9:00pm GMT (4:00pm ET) respectively this Sunday, September 23rd at the iTunes Festival 2012 (www.iTunes.com/Festival). The festival is taking place all this month at the Roundhouse, Camden Town in London and has featured a wide range of talent from Norah Jones to Jack White to Alicia Keys. By downloading the free iTunes Festival App, fans from across the globe can watch the show live or view it afterwards for a limited time on their computer with iTunes, on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or on the big screen using Apple TV.
Robert Glasper Experiment, whose breakout album Black Radio was released earlier this year featuring a slew of guests, will be joined at the festival by a diverse group of special guests including guitarist and fellow Blue Note artist Lionel Loueke (whose new album Heritage features and was co-produced by Glasper), rappers MF Doom and Phonte (who is featured on Glasper’s forthcoming remix EP Black Radio Recovered), singer/songwriter Alan Hampton (who is also the bass player in Glasper’s acoustic Trio), and singer Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, as well as vocalists Bilal and Lalah Hathaway who were featured on Black Radio.
José James is a soulful singer and songwriter whose music also blends jazz, hip hop and R&B. James is set to release his full-length Blue Note debut No Beginning No End, which features contributions from Glasper, in January. The vocalist has also just released the four-track It’s All Over Your Body EP exclusively on the iTunes Store. James’ song “Trouble” is currently featured as iTunes’ free Single of the Week in the U.S.
