Interview – Rusty Brown, Electric Mary, August 2012
By Shane Pinnegar
Electric Mary have spent almost a decade forging their place at the peak of Australia’s hard rock crop. Over 3 albums – “Four Hands High”, “Down To The Bone” and “III” – they have proven they are worthy successors to Aussie institutions such as The Angels, Rose Tattoo and The Screaming Jets.
Frontman Rusty Brown has a wicked sense of humour and loves nothing more than waxing philosophical about the band, their pure love for what they do, and Deep Purple’s “Stormbringer” album – a record he boldly declares he could listen to every day. Having toured Europe last year and recently returned from a series of shows in Japan, Electric Mary returned to Perth for one show only, and it was high time we caught up for a chat.
