DIAMOND RINGS SWAPS REMIXES WITH YOUNGBLOOD HAWKE + SPRING & SUMMER TOUR AS SPECIAL GUESTS OF O.M.D.

image003(New York, NY – March 21st, 2013) – Diamond Rings and Los Angeles indie alternative quintet , Youngblood Hawke have swapped remixes!  Youngblood Hawke added a devilishly danceable energy to the Canadian stalwart’s single “Runaway Love,” while Diamond Rings took on “Last Time,” giving it a fresh and fiery spin. You can stream both of the remixes via soundcloud now, check them out here.

In addition to seven spectacular performances at SXSW (Brooklyn Vegan, FILTER, VEVOtv  and Spotify to name a few), Diamond Rings is thrilled to announce an extensive tour as special guests of British New Wave pioneers, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (O.M.D.) to kick off next month.

Last fall, the band made their network TV debut performance performing “I’m Just Me” from their sophomore release Free Dimensional on The Late Show With David Letterman, followed by a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.   Check out the fantastic new video for the current single “Runaway Love” in addition to an acoustic version of the song which premiered on Rolling Stone.

Free Dimensional  (co-produced with the Grammy-nominated Damian Taylor [Bjork, The Killers, Prodigy, UNKLE, Robyn, Austra])  retains the melodicism, clever juxtapositions, and lyrical honesty that garnered kudos for the debut, Special Affections.  What’s different this time around is how the songs were conceived and produced. “I wanted the first album to have that homespun quality,” John O explains (whose fashion-forward glam-style was recently compared to Lada Gaga in Entertainment Weekly). Back then, he was wary of too many high-tech bells and whistles. “A big part of being afraid of something is not understanding it,” he admits. “Once I became more comfortable with the medium of electronic music, it was only natural to want to improve.”

Acclaim for Free Dimensional:

“EW Recommends” – Entertainment Weekly

“Diamond Rings Shine” – Billboard

“…it’s a must-download for us.” – MTV.com

“Smokey and glam” – Stereogum.com

“Hook after perfect pop hook” – TinyMixTapes
