Hellogoodbye releases “Would It Kill You?” Digital Deluxe Edition

Old Friends Records celebrates its first release today, December 18th, withHellogoodbye‘s Would It Kill You? – a digital deluxe re-issue of the band’s latest full length which was previously released independently, and is available now on iTunes. Despite releasing the album themselves, the release made its way onto the Billboard charts and was praised as “a killer batch of indie pop” by USA Today.

The digital re-issue includes three live tracks from Daytrotter’s Barnstormer Tour and the previously unreleased B-Side “Not Ever Coming Home.” The album is also now available for pre-order as a marbled blue and white vinyl and T-shirt bundle on Old Friends’ webstore http://oldfriendsrecords.cinderblock.com/

The platinum-selling band recently played intimate shows in New York and Los Angeles, reworking material from Would It Kill You? acoustically. Look out for the Did It Kill You?recordings of the shows in early 2013.

The band is currently in the studio with multi-Grammy Award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (The Shins, The White Stripes, The Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Jason Mraz), recording a new full-length studio album slated for a late spring 2013 release.

HELLOGOODBYE – Originally formed in 2001 by singer Forrest Kline, Hellogoodbyereleased their self-titled debut EP in 2004. Just two years later, the band released their first full-length album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, which went on to sell over 400,000 copies and produced the now platinum hit single “Here (In Your Arms).”  The track found its way into the Top 20 on the Hot 100 and Top 10 on Pop Radio, earning the band their first ever national TV appearances with performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Last Call with Carson Daly. Numerous tours and festivals followed, including appearances at Warped Tour, Bamboozle’s main stage, and Reading and Leeds in the UK. The band released their sophomore effort Would It Kill You? on their own imprint, Wasted Summer, that November.Even with limited distribution, Would It Kill You? found its way onto the Billboard charts and earned the band praise in the press with USA Today describing the album as “A Killer Batch of Indie Pop” (3 1/2 Stars) and Billboard wrote that the new album “signals a change of tide for members of Hellogoodbye, separating the California natives from their electro-melodic roots and propelling them into a promising folk-pop future.”
