Better late than never, right?  That is definitely true when the debut EP from RavenEye was deposited in my mailbox.  This disc is a cool collection of five great rockers that should please just about everybody that will give it a listen.  Disc opener and title track “Breaking Out” kicks down the doors with a heavy bottom end that is matched by the chugging, hook laden riffs and soaring vocals.  TRhe song is a great introduction to this trio.  “Get It Started” takes a more straight ahead approach with pounding drums that keep time perfectly and helps anchor the track with help from the bass lines.  The vocals and guitars swirl together keeping the song from getting too heavy.  “Hey Hey Yeah” is a lighter track that sounds a little more melodic and anthemic at the chorus than the previous tracks, but this solid rocker is the glue that keeps the disc cohesive and flowing after the first two rockers slow the tempo a bit.  “Run Away” features a guitar line that is light and keeps the song mellow, regardless of the lyrics.  The drums and bass support the mood set forth by the guitars while the vocals add punch and melody to the track, especially at the chorus.  Disc closer “You Got It” brings a heavy mood to the end of the disc, bringing the set full circle.  The drums are solid and push the song along, while the bass and guitars add depth to the track.
