Sebastian Bach - ABachalypse Now CD

Ok, let’s talk about the name of the record for a second… It’s a REALLY lame title, but let’s be honest, it’s totally Sebastian Bach. I’m only surprised that he didn’t call it “Savage Animal Live”!

This is essentially a greatest hits live set, spanning 2 discs. Disc one was recorded at Hellfest in Clisson, France in 2012, and Disc 2 was recorded at Club Nokia in LA, in 2012.

Being that this is a double disc, from two different performances, there is a number of double ups as far as songs go. I personally would prefer to have had no double ups, and more material from the Angel Down and Kicking and Screaming albums.

With that being said, Seb is on fire for these performances. All of the Skid Row classics are there, from 18 and Life to Youth Gone Wild and I Remember You, plus a couple of epic versions of Slave to the Grind. Mixing with the Skid Row classics are blistering versions of Kicking and Screaming, Love is a Bitchslap and American Metalhead..

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of polish on this record, which at times, I like, and at times I do not. The sound is quite raw, and gets a little distorted and crackly when turned up too loud.

Although this is a good live record, it will never reach the levels of acclaim that the likes of Kiss Alive, Judas Priests Unleashed in the East or Thin Lizzy’s Live and Dangerous have received.

Also featuring guest appearances from members of Black Veil Brides, Vince Neils solo band and Halfords solo band, this is a must have collection for all Sebastian Bach or Skid Row fans, but probably not for everyone.
