I had never heard of these guys when someone pointed me in the direction of this disc.  Not a bad disc at all.  This isn’t what I would normally listen to, but depending on the day, that could be just about anything.  “Everybody Knows” is a cool track features a great vibe and some well placed harmonica.  “Ulysses Jones” is another track that is just cool and laid back.  There is nothing urgent about this disc or the music.  It is solid rock with a mellow sensibility.  “So Much Better” slows things down even more, though I thought it wasn’t possible.  This track has a Petty-like quality to it.  “Cotto” brings a little more energy to the table, and really demonstrates the talent of the rhythm section as well as some cool guitar riffs and vibes.  “Small Fires” has a different flare to it, in that the bass is intricate and important, without being overpowering.  These songs are well played by the musicians.

“Cold Wind” kicks in and brings the mellow back to the disc.  The guitar work here is out of left field, but adds depth to the disc.  “Talk To Louise” has a fun groove to it that gets the foot tapping and keeps the mood light.  “Jump In The Water” is a rocker that gets the volume turned up a little, while maintaining the mellow groove created thus far.  The vocals are played nicely against the instruments and add to the track.  The guitar solo is ramped up compared to most here, but is well placed.  Disc closer “Goodnight Moon” is a lot like most of the tracks here, in that there is a chill vibe that demonstrates that music doesn’t have to be cranked to 11 or played at 100 mph for it to be palatable.
