Bringing their love of rock and roll and fast food full-tilt; Mac Sabbath hit the stage at Exit/In in Nashville, TN on Tuesday Nov 7th to a packed house. They didn’t waste time getting into their stage antics and were spraying water into the crowd from condiment bottles and tossing confetti. All dressed in parody versions of the classic McDonald’s Playland characters, Ronald Osbourne, Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and the Catburgler delivered. Great energy was felt on stage and from the crowd. Lots of high energy and well timed pace of the show was perfect but time flew by too fast. Playing songs like “We’re Not Going to Shake Shack” playing off of the original song by Twisted Sister “We’re Not Going to Take It” and other songs like a parody of Black Sabbath’s song “Sweet Leaf” as their version called “Sweet Beef”; every song had some hilarious element involved. I wasn’t completely familiar with the bands on this evening’s lineup going into the show. Went more out of curiosity from seeing images and a few random images online of the band over the years. I was definitely impressed. Full of wit and musicianship they performed for a little over an hour to close out the evening. The reactions and attitudes of everyone leaving the show afterwards were excited and happy. There was not a sad face in the crowd except that the show was over. This is a band that is highly recommended to catch live even if you aren’t that familiar with their music. When you go to a Mac Sabbath show you are in for a supersized good time.
