A Dirty Dozen with ZAC RED from SUPREME UNBEING – March 2022

| 25 March 2022 | Reply

According to a recent press release: “Supreme Unbeing is a mysterious rock/metal band led by vocalist/prophet Zac Red who acts as the physical form of our collective consciousness, the ambient quantum entanglement of our most personal thoughts. After observing the world for many years, he has assembled his fellow prophets D. Vine, Unknown and Al Mytee to shed some light over our present existence through the medium of heavy riffs, astounding solos, and philosophically intriguing lyrics.” We get Zac to discuss new music, influences, and more…

1. Tell us a little about your latest release.  What might a fan or listener not grab the first or second time they listen through?  Are there any hidden nuggets you put in the material or that only diehard fans might find?

Depending on when you read this, our latest release will be either “Savior” or “The Devil Smiles.” Either way, all our songs are important messages to the people of the Earth, and with regards to our upcoming full-length album Enduring Physicality, the messages revolve around the conundrums an individual might have while wearing this physical encasing called “body” around their true being. For instance, “Savior” is about humankind longing for a savior to descend from the skies to help us from destroying ourselves, when in fact we can all be that “Savior.” Whereas “The Devil Smiles” dives into the philosophical aspect of the true origin of our most personal thoughts and desires, and the lengths we go to make our perceived dreams come true. These types of messages, with “hidden nuggets” as you put it, are to be expected anytime you listen to Supreme Unbeing. The more you listen, the more you will learn.

2. What got you into music, and can you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to be a musician?

Ah, this is very interesting indeed, and as I am the voice of the collective consciousness, the quantum entanglement of our most personal thoughts, the universe itself decided my work will be to spread these lyrical messages to the people of the Earth, both for enlightenment and for entertainment. If I now step aside and let the memories of the physical entity, I project myself into come forth, I can answer briefly that the realization came in the first reflection of sunlight passing the eyes of this entity.

3. Building on that, is there a specific song, album, performer, or live show that guided your musical taste?

Again, I will step aside and access the memories of this physical entity. The songs that made an impact during his youth were the tunes of Europe, Guns N’ Roses and Metallica. The first live show he attended was Guns N’ Roses in Stockholm back in 1993. However, as evolution progressed since, there are numerous other artists that invoke adoration, but are too many to mention in this brief query.

4. If you could call in any one collaborator to do a song with, who would it be, and why?

Aren’t we but all just collaborators, trying to reach an optimal collaboration between mind, body, and spirit? That’s another discussion I know, so let’s focus on the question of collaborating in regard to a song – how about making a cover of “Down In a Hole” by Alice In Chains with Amy Lee of Evanescence?

5. What is your favorite activity when out of the studio and/or not on tour?  What do you like to do to unwind?

Most of the time when were not in the studio, we retreat to the Realm, the non-physical state of existence, and let these physical entities go by living their lives as best they can. However, as we have now promised to endure physicality, we will remain in these physical encasings, and attempt to be human by trying different human, physically demanding, activities. Follow our IG to find out how it goes.

6. How would you describe your music to someone who’d never listened to you before? What is the one comparison a reviewer or fan has made that made you cringe or you disagreed with?

Our music revolves around the lyrical messages, packed in our own signature style of metal, comprised of heavy riffs and astounding solos that will leave the listener pondering about their own very existence and purpose. As music is very much subjective to the individual listener, we do accept all and any reviews good or bad, we are not to judge.

7. When your band is hanging out together, who cooks, who gets the drinks in, and who is first to crack out the acoustic guitars for a singalong?

This is easy, and quite telling of which instrument we all play. Here we go…

  • Cooks? Al Mytee
  • Drinks in? Unknown
  • Cracks the acoustic? Zac Red
  • Video games? D.Vine
  • Hang around? D.Sciple

8. When was the last time you were starstruck and who was it?

This was a few eons ago, when the universe was still in a chaotic state, and I almost got struck by a star in the Pleiadean star system called Alcyone.

9. What is the best part of being a musician? If you could no longer be a musician for whatever reason, what would be your dream job?

As long as our hearts beat, we are all musicians. However, we understand now that physical entities have quite a hard time enduring this reality and need jobs to pay bills in this, new, societal structure that has emerged in the past couple of thousand years. My dream occupation, if not a musician… would be a hockey player in the NHL. That would be a great job indeed.

10. What is one question you have always wanted an interviewer to ask – and what is the answer? Conversely, what question are you tired of answering?

I do not view interviews as other than sharing information between two physical entities, and as free-will is still in play, I do not mind any question at all. To be tired of answering, would be to be tired of one’s purpose.

11. Looking back over your career, is there a single moment or situation you feel was a misstep or you would like to have a “do over,” even if it didn’t change your current situation?

As we very recently entered reality (back in October 2020) when we released our first full-length album Enter Reality and have just set out to continue our quest here on Earth by enduring physicality, our “career” is just starting. Self-doubt is often not too productive anyway, never look back, just keep moving on!

12. If you could magically go back in time and be a part of the recording sessions for any one record in history, which would you choose – and what does that record mean to you?

As the Realm offers access points to every time and space, the query you are posing has already been explored – the answer is, Guns N’ Roses Use Your Illusion I & II. No explanation needed.
