The Canadian alt folk band, Crash test Dummies, are out on tour in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their album God Shuffled His Feet. The 1993 release saw them rise to international fame. The tour marks the first time reunited in nearly 17 years. Original band members include Brad Roberts (vocals), Ellen Reid (vocals), Dan Roberts (bass) and Mitch Dorge (drums). Brad’s bass baritone voice and quirky lyrics made the album unique and wildly popular. I was thrilled to see they were playing in Indy and looked forwarded to trip down memory lane. The Vogue was the perfect venue, a small theatre allowing fans to be right up to the stage. The place had a good crowd for a Thursday night. They took the stage and got right into it with “God Shuffled His Feet.” It was like turning back the clock 25 years listening to their album. They sounded great both vocally and instrumentally, showing no signs from the long layoff. They played their 1993 multi-platinum album in its entirety. They supplemented with a few covers, acoustic versions, and concluded with “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.” The show was an epic flashback and brought back memories from 25 years that have passed way too quickly.

Setlist: God Shuffled His Feet – In the Days of the Caveman – Swimming in Your Ocean – I Think I’ll Disappear Now – How Does a Duck Know? – When I Go Out with Artists – The Psychic – Two Knights and Maidens – The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead – My Own Sunrise – Afternoons & Coffeespoons – Androgynous – The Ghosts That Haunt Me – Superman’s Song – Heart of Stone – Make You Mine – He Liked to Feel It – Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
