Pandora is a little fox who lives alone in a junk yard. She wanders the the mounds of broken and discarded things, building herself a home “from all that people had left behind.” But no one ever came to visit.

So she spent her time gathering and repairing what she could, bringing lost and forgotten things back to life.

Until an injured bluebird falls from the sky; something so different to the mechanical and inanimate things she spends her days repairing, and she doesn’t know how to help him.

For the first time she is not entirely alone, and her whole world is about to change.

The moment I saw this book, I had to have it.

It’s a gorgeous hardcover, coated in printed silk, and the illustrations are to die for.

I urge you to seek it out in a store so you can see for yourself. You’ll need it in your life, too.

This is a story about re-purposing and renewal, and as such will offer teaching moments for children, but beyond that it is a beautiful story that has elements that different readers will feel more deeply, depending on their age.

This has honestly got to be one of the most beautiful picture books I have ever seen, and I will be seeking out all other titles by this author/illustrator.
