Will Guns N’ Roses come back to Australia?

Guns n Roses 1

2016 has certainly proven to be a momentous year for fans of the iconic rock band Guns N’ Roses. Not only has 100 Percent Rock interviewed legendary drummer Matt Sorum, but we’ve also seen the return of the classic GN’R line-up who have been reacquainting fans with their trademark sleaze-rock sound across the world.

But one question is still burning in the minds of all Australian rock fans; will Guns N’ Roses ever come back Down Under? It’s been well over two decades since the band came to Australian shores, but with Guns N’ Roses popping up in all manner of unlikely places from casino games sites to our cinema screens, it’s hoped that 2017 will see the return of the Los Angeles band.

Guns N’ Roses have been on the road since their acclaimed performance at the Coachella Festival in California earlier this year, but with just a US summer tour and an autumn excursion to South America on the band’s website, there have been fears that Guns N’ Roses might miss out Australia in their reunion plans.

However, there is hope on the horizon as Alternative Nation recently reported that Guns N’ Roses could tour Australia in January 2017 according to a post on a fan forum. Such moves could make sense as there’s been no shortage of love for the band who’ve brought a much needed dose of nihilism and outrage to the sterile music scene.

And the GN’R hype machine has certainly been showing no signs of slowing down with rumours already emerging that the band could headline Glastonbury Festival in the UK that would be the perfect finale after their potential Australian jaunt earlier in the year.

The band have also been branching out into other media realms too with a GN’R graphic novel being recently released as well as a Guns N’ Roses slots game at the Lucky Nugget Casino site that could prove that even a game of roulette is as timeless as those opening notes to Sweet Child O’ Mine.

The fact that the band could appear at an online casino site might surprise some, but it shows how the band are becoming more flexible in their advancing years which means that it’s improving the chances of us seeing the band Down Under in the coming months.

And with Axl Rose’s celebrated live performances with the famously Antipodean rockers AC/DC showing that he’s keen to embrace things a little more Australian, it’s hoped that it won’t just be in the online casino games that we’ll see Guns N’ Roses in 2017!
