Rock legends Foreigner returned to Knoxville to a sold out Tennessee Theater. After 40 years performing, 10 multi platinum albums, and sales exceeding 75 million, Foreigner is still going strong and selling out venues across the country. Foreigner released their self-titled album way back in 1976 when I was in high school. Their music holds a place near and dear to me. It is nostalgic and takes me back in time. What is most amazing is how their music has withstood the test of time. What was once new is now classic, but still equally endeared. With such a portfolio, they can essentially fill the evening with hit songs. Their performance certainly lived up to expectations. Though members have changed over the years, the sound remains the same. Kelly Hansen has been the front man for over 10 years and brings showmanship in addition to spot on vocals. He was out in the crowd during “Cold As Ice” and throughout the night grabbed cell phones and cameras taking shots of himself and other band members. After playing their set, they returned for 3 encore songs. During “I Want to Know What Love Is” they brought onstage a local high school choir in support of their juvenile diabetes fund-raiser. The crowd stood the entire show and sang along with all the songs. For most it was trip down memory lane and Foreigner did not disappoint!
Setlist: Double Vision – Head Games – Cold As Ice – Waiting for Girl Like You – Dirty White Boy – Say You Will – Feels Like the First Time – Urgent – Jukebox Hero – Long Long Way From Home – I Want to Know What Love Is – Hot Blooded
