I typically love when a band goes through changes, strengthens their core, and releases re-recorded versions of their hits and other tracks from their catalog.  Finland’s Burning Point is one of the latest bands to undergo this process.  New track “In The Shadows” is a cool blend of symphonic rock and heavy metal.  The vocals stand out against the aggressive guitars and keyboards that guide the track from open to close.  “All The Madness” from 2003’s Feeding The Flames gets a cool revision due to the vocals and tighter guitar sound from Pete Ahonen and Pekka Kolivuori.  This is one of three tracks from that release that received a redux on this collection.  “Find Your Soul” is another new track that well represents the current sound of the band, while demonstrating the bands love of the symphonic sound and vibe.  “My Darkest Times” has great riffs and a killer groove created by the rhythm section of bassist Sammy Nyman and drummer Jussi Ontero.  This is one of the better tracks on the disc.  “Into The Fire” is a metal track that features speed and aggression without being harsh and overdone.  This version revamps the track from its 2003 incarnation.  The song gets a kick in the ass from the vocals and drums.  “Blackened The Sun” is the final song from Feeding The Flames that gets a shiny coat of paint on this disc.  The arrangement sounds tighter and the sound of the song seems fuller thanks to heavy bass and vocals that soar over the chorus.

“Signs Of Danger” is the lone track redone from the bands debut release, 2001’s Salvation By Fire.  The drumming on this track is heavy and carries the tempo and energy of the track, while the revamped guitar solos give the song punch.  “Heart Of Gold” is a re-recording that comes from the 2007 release Burned Down The Enemy.  The female vocals add depth to the track, as does the punched up keyboards from Jarkko Väisänen and guitars in the production.  Also from the 2007 release is “Dawn Of The Ancient War.”  This song is so heavy in nature, but the combination of organ and guitars gives it a fresh sound that is enhanced when Nitte Valo starts singing.  The transition between verse and chorus adds depth to the tracks musical component.  “Queen Of Fire” is another great song that benefits from a killer arrangement and Valo’s vocals.  The guitars and keyboards work together to create a solid backdrop for the track.  “I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire)” closes the disc with a cool version of the KISS track.  This version is a lot like the original, but the female vocals add a different dimension to the track, as does the arrangement of the background vocals.  The guitars really make this track stand up against the original.
