Shane’s Rock Challenge: LIBERTY N’ JUSTICE – 2010 – Light It Up

6.5/10
Liberty n’ Justice are a damn fine rock band who deliver some finessed hard rocking tunes on their 2010 debut, even though they do have a tendency to bang on about their god ad infinitum.
When they stop preaching and just play, this is a thoroughly enjoyable listen – such as on the AC/DC-meets-Van Halen Drop Drunk Gorgeous, but to an atheist the preachyness of Man vs Mother Nature, Every Reason To Believe and the title track gets pretty tedious pretty fast.
Still, there’s plenty out there who want their faith reinforced with heavy guitars, and LnJ mainman Justin Murr has drafted in pals like Phil Collen, Phil Lewis, Marc Torein, Ted Poley, C J Snare, Chris Jericho, Jeff Pilson and many other names that hard rock afficianados will recognise, which adds a level of curiosity to the whole shebang, as well as ensuring exemplary performances throughout.
