If it’s profundity you’re looking for, then I’m afraid you’ve come to the wrong place as Giving The Game Away – Thunder’s sixth studio album, and released at the time of their tenth anniversary – sees the UK band merely on autopilot, turning in a collection of songs that are pleasant enough in a ‘cheap n’ cheerful’ way, but quickly forgotten.

For a band with such a high standard normally, that’s a resolute fail mark, but truth is that the only thing that really stands out here is their dire take on Play That Funky Music – a song which hard rockers seemingly love to cover, but which never works for any of them.
