BLOODS – Golden Fang EP

Bloods peddle an infectious blend of garagey power pop punk with fat melodies, hipster cool and a refreshingly basic musical aesthetic shining through a nevertheless full and vibrant sonic assault.
It’s easy to look at these three youngsters – MC, Dirk and Sweetie – and be dismissive of their oh-so-cool-ness, but wait – there’s substance behind the gloss, lo-fi authenticity behind the haughty cool.
In short, Golden Fang is good. Six tracks that start and finish with alacrity and verve, no smart arse tricks, just good solid songwriting and playing and hooks that even the most black hearted will have trouble resisting.
