VENUES & VIBE
This year’s Saturday Spectacular expands its format to take in two new major venues. Introducing the X-Press Launch Stage at the Perth Cultural Centre Amphitheatre, including a large licensed area in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. X-Press Magazine celebrates their new digital makeover, featuring live sets from the likes of Emperors, Sons of Rico and 44th Sunset plus interactive VJs, DJs and digital producers on the giant screen, the revelry also continuing inside with free entry to the Industry Launch Party at PICA Bar from 8pm.
The Northbridge Piazza Stage will also see the Craft Awards presented by RTRFM 92.1, including a live broadcast on the sound alternative, but more on that soon!
The outdoors Emerging Artists Wetlands Stage will be presented by Central Institute of Technology (CIT), seeing their best students working with WAM to program performances from local up-and-comers and Song Of The Year nominees. CIT will also be launching their latest recordings from their own Richmond Street Records label on the day.
The Urban Orchard will host Electric Blossom, featuring a selection of WA’s best electronic and hip hop acts playing in a licensed outdoors garden zone. Of course all these arenas will also cater for all-ages too.
More? Sure; every type of music imaginable will also invade Northbridge, with The Bird, YaYa’s, Mustang Bar, Universal Bar, The Bakery, Beat Nightclub, Flyrite and The Brass Monkey all opening their doors in the day and leaving them open til night. That’s over 100 acts, and all for free! Plus food stalls and markets. Winning.
