LOS ANGELES, CA – JULY 31, 2013 – Australian indie pop four piece San Cisco had their danceable single “Fred Astaire” remixed by Joywave. You can check out the premiere over at All Things Go. The band is currently on a headlining tour with Smallpools, with SOLD OUT shows at Bowery Ballroom in NYC and Echoplex in LA. They will be appearing at Lollapalooza this weekend, where NYLON called them “a buzz band you don’t want to miss”.

“An irresistible Australian band, San Cisco specializes in songs you can’t get out of your head.” – NPR

“Frothing with jangly chords, upbeat instrumentation, and glittery but subtle electronics, San Cisco is a promising full-length album that is evident of them growing up, but still having fun.” – Prefix Mag

“Learn about them before your friends do!” – Teen Vogue

“Hip, perky, Aussie indie-popsters” – Time Out New York

It’s the kind of glistening rock that shimmies with just enough danceability to make you groove and enough heart to make you feel. In other words, it’s downright delightful.” – ARTISTdirect

Ranging from ages 18-20, the four-piece (Jordi Davieson: lead vocals and guitar, Josh Biondillo: guitar, keyboards, vocals, Nick Gardner: bass, and Scarlett Stevens: drums, vocals) worked on finessing their sound throughout 2011, playing crowd-wowing sets at Big Day Out, Big Sound, Laneway and Fuse Festival. Influential Aussie radio station Triple J gave them the 2011 award for Best New Music and their song “Awkward” was voted into the Top 10 of Triple J’s Hottest 100. To date “Awkward” has received over four million plays on YouTube.

This self-titled debut was released on July 16th on RCA Records and is a collection of the band’s thoughts on life, growth, relationships and love all tied together with infectious drum beats, slashes of synth and bright catchy hooks. “They’re pop songs!” said the band’s Scarlett Stevens. “Like we didn’t know! That was the plan!” The thirteen songs perfectly capture their sunny outlook on life. “We want to make the music we think is cool,” Scarlett added, simply and concisely, which is exactly what San Cisco are great at.
