Serena Ryder Joins OneRepublic, Appears on Tonight Show
LOS ANGELES, CA — Serena Ryder is quickly becoming a household name as her debut single, “Stompa,” continues to grow at radio and television, while single sales have surpassed 100,000. The dynamic rocker made her US late night TV debut on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” as new TV syncs for “Stompa” keep piling up and includes Showtime’s new hit drama “Ray Donovan.”
Leading to the forthcoming August 27, 2013 release date of her album Harmony (Capitol Records), this first song spent eight weeks at #1 on the AAA chart. This track shows no signs of slowing down as it continues to build at new formats where it currently resides in the Top 35 at the Adult Top 40 chart and growing.
Interview magazine recently described Harmony as “a collection of soulful pop tunes, with Ryder’s husky voice surfacing exuberantly over quirky arrangements and overt displays of musicianship.”
With all this action, OneRepublic has invited Ryder on tour starting immediately (full list of dates below), along with Mayer Hawthorne and Sara Bareilles. She will perform headline shows on select dates amidst the extensive run through mid-September.
In recent months, Ryder has nabbed her fourth Juno Award as well as a MuchMusic Award for Rock/Alternative Video of the Year 2013. “Stompa” has rocketed to Triple Platinum status in Canada while follow up track, “What I Wouldn’t Do” is certified Gold. Seemingly, US domination is not far behind.
