When you get a message asking whether you would like to check out demos from a new band, you never know exactly what you are going to get. When the request is from a personal friend, you really have no idea what you might be getting yourself into. When that friend is Geoff Jenkins, you have a pretty good idea that you are about to get your ears rocked. “Hypocrisy (And Its Traitor)” opens this collection and it definitely sets the pace. This thing is brutal, but I wouldn’t expect any less. The vocals are over the top metal core that will surely please anyone who will give it a spin. As punishing as the vocals are the bass lines, played brutally by another dear friend Ivy Vujic Jenkins. The rhythm section anchors this track heavily and allows Geoff to do what he does best. “Duat” keeps the aural assault coming. The guitars on this track are different from the last track, but that isn’t to say worse or better. The fret work seems play more against the vocals, which makes both stand out a little. The drumming here is monstrous and deserves a tip of the hat. “Liberation” kicks off and demonstrates this bands attitude of nothing to lose. The way the four musicians come together on this track make the wait for more material even harder. This sounds like metalcore plus. The sound created here builds on all of the previous work these musicians have done. If all my friends have music like this for me to check out, I am a lucky man. Get on board or get out of the way… Speedgod is coming regardless of your decision!!
