Having evolved from such bands as Drown, SiX & Motor Gun Hotel, Lords of Ruin have put together an EP to introduce the world to their sound. “New Life” opens with chugging guitars and attitude. The vocals kick in and add some aggression to the song. This is a great introduction to the band and good start to the disc. “Welcome To The Last Time” keeps the attitude in check and in place. This one features some cool riffs underneath the vocals. The rhythm section is tight and drives this track. “Wrong On The Inside” is one of the better tracks here. It’s chorus is catchy and the track keeps the method simple. The song is straight forward, as is the guitar work and the vocals. “This Is Her Life (Wasted)” turns the attitude back up and stays consistent with the other tracks on the disc. The bass seems to stand out a bit on this song, which puts a little spin on the song and keeps it from being just like every other song. “Life Is A War” closes the EP and does so with teh same attitude and guitar work that opened the disc. This track lets the different members step up a little, as the guitars, drums, and bass are all strong and supportive of the vocals on this song.
