I seem to gravitate to certain pop tracks and artists lately. Man cannot live on metal and rock alone. “Safe And Sound” opens this EP and it is, how shall I put this, fun. The groove is cool and lends itself to dancing. The use of keyboards, sounds, and effects add to the fun. This track doesn’t throw anything new at you, just good pop that should go over very well in a club. “Patience Gets Us Nowhere Fast” comes along and maintains the same fun groove created on the last track, but mixes it up a little with more texturing in the lyrics and an extra push during the chorus. “I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo” is another fun track, but this one is less dance and more effect heavy. The guitar riff in the track is very 80’s pop, but it adds a nice touch to the song. “Center Stage” has club track written all over it. The vibe created from the beginning is electric and contagious. The vocals have a retro sound to them that keeps the song from becoming a duplicate of anything else on the EP. “Love Away” is regrettably the last track on the EP. This tune is even more different than the other tracks, but just as fun and contagious as the others. This helps demonstrate these guys are not a one trick pony. The song is a cool dance ballad. Feeling like a little guilty pop pleasure? If so, pick this one up.
