Once again, I am confronted with reviewing a disc from a band I have never heard of. How does this keep happening to me? Luckily, I am given another good disc to check out. Several artistic pieces from old radio broadcast opens the title track, “America Idle,” until we are blown away with the pounding drums, forceful bass, and riffing guitars. The music is really good rock that is soon accompanied by vocals that add depth to the track. “Blood Secrets” is up next and rocks. This guitar chugs like a locomotive steaming down the track. The riffs interspersed, along with the drums and bass, make this a great rock song. These guys hold themselves out as thrash, but they are more than that. “You Lose” is a typical thrash fare, but played well. The music really keeps this song afloat. The guitar work is cool, with some great runs and a cool solo. “Blink Of An Eye” follows and has a cool drum intro. The guitars and bass kick in and the tune seems to escalate. The tribal groove combined with the riffs and bass line take it to another level. The vocals add impact to the already great track. This is probably one of my favorites here. The band really lets each instrument and player step out of the shadows for a moment. “Ashes To Ashes” closes the EP. This track is quintessential thrash and reminiscent of the great bands out there, while maintaining the individual sound of this band.
