Kaleido and Citizen Zero Share Stage for CD Release Party 11/30/12
Two of the Motor City’s most buzz worthy rock bands, Kaleido and Citizen Zero, share the stage on Friday, November 30 at the Magic Stick (4120 Woodward Avenue) in Detroit. Brooklyn, New York based “party rock circus” Shinobi Ninja open the show. Doors are at 7:30 pm, advance tickets are $10 (at ticketweb.com) and $12 at the door. All ages are welcome to attend.
Female-fronted Kaleido will be celebrating the release of their highly anticipated debut EP at the Magic Stick. Coming off a red-hot summer that included two dates on the Warped Tour (Detroit and New Jersey), and opening slots for national acts The Offspring (Fillmore Theatre) and Evans Blue (The Blind Pig). Kaleido also took first place at the 89X Battle of the Bands, winning a slot on the radio stations annual Birthday Bash at DTE Energy Music Theater. Kaleido capped off their summer with a performance at Comerica Park for World Series contenders the Detroit Tigers. They performed on the baseball field pre and post game – with Kaleido lead singer Christina Chriss also singing the National Anthem.
Formed in 2011, Kaleido features lead singer Christina Chriss, drummer Joey Fava , bassist Cody Morales, guitarist Ronnie Rosolino and guitarist Jamie Burnham.
Citizen Zero’s sophomore EP “Life Explodes” was released in October 2012. Produced by Kid Rock’s longtime recording engineer Al Sutton at his Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, the six-song EP includes contributions by an illustrious list of Detroit rock royalty, including Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge, Crud), Twisted Brown Trucker Band lead guitarist Marlon Young, and all-star vocalist Herschel Boone.
Citizen Zero’s new lead guitarist, Sammy Boller, was recently hand-selected by axe-master Joe Satriani for a private workshop in Los Angeles and prize package via a national contest hosted by Guitar Center.
After headlining venues and all of Detroit’s major festivals in recent months, Citizen Zero is eager to bring their potent brand of radio-ready, fierce and melodic rock back to the stage.
Openers Shinobi Ninja hail from Brooklyn, New York, and are a rowdy hybrid of the Beastie Boys, 311 and LMFA0 guaranteed to get the party started!
