DIAMOND RINGS ALBUM OUT TODAY! NETWORK TV DEBUT ON LETTERMAN + VIDEO PREMIERE ON VEVO + HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF FRIDAY

(New York, NY – October 22nd, 2012) – Astralwerks Records are proud to announce the release of Diamond Rings’ brand new album, Free Dimensional. The song “Runaway Love” is also available as a limited time free download.  Additionally, the brand new video for this track was premiered today on VEVO. Diamond Rings will kick off a headlining U.S. tour this Friday with Astralwerks labelmates, Gold Fields to support.  The band will also make their network TV debut performance performing their current single “I’m Just Me” on The Late Show With David Letterman on Oct 26^th followed up by a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 7^th.

John O’Regan (who is Diamond Rings)’s fashion-forward glam-style was recently compared to Lada Gaga in a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly.  And as evidenced by the reviews of the recent U.S. tour as special guests of Stars, this headline tour will create the opportunity to experience the full pop spectacle of Diamond Rings as it was truly meant to be seen.

Free Dimensional (co-produced with the Grammy-nominated Damian Taylor [Bjork, The Killers, Prodigy, UNKLE, Robyn, Austra]) retains the melodicism, clever juxtapositions, and lyrical honesty that garnered kudos for Special Affections. What’s different this time around is how the songs were conceived and produced. “I wanted the first album to have that homespun quality,” John O explains. Back then, he was wary of too many high-tech bells and whistles. “A big part of being afraid of something is not understanding it,” he admits. “Once I became more comfortable with the medium of electronic music, it was only natural to want to improve.”
